For those that don't know, our boxer passed away a little over a month ago. It was and is always hard losing a friend and family member. Brandon had always wanted a Boxer, but we couldn't afford to get one when we decided to get a dog. About a week or so after we got Roxie (we also wanted a Golden Retriever since thats what I grew up with), we were offered a free purebred boxer. I remember Brandon asking if we could get him, and I know he thought I'd say no since we had a new puppy and a baby (Dav was only like 8 months old and Rox 6 weeks). But I thought, this is my husband's dream dog, what kind of wife would I be to say no? We could do it.
When we went to get him we learned he had not been taken care of. I wondered when the last time he ate was... It was so horribly sad I started crying on the way home. How could we not take him home and show him a loving family? We decided to keep his name, Blade, because he knew it and had already gone through so much. We got used to it eventually, and his silly personality. He was very loving as well.
So far Roxie has been doing surprisingly well, I was really worried. She and Blade were like husband and wife (if you cant tell). Ill never forgot finding them in the backyard lying like this, it was hilarious, but a prime example of their love for eachother and their personalities. We will definately remember the good times (and bad!) that we had with him, and hope that while he was with us that he hopefully enjoyed his life with us as well.
